ReThink Breast Cancer at lululemonathletica Back

Last night I was invited to speak to an intimate group of young women with breast cancer as part of the Live, Laugh, Learn series in Toronto by ReThink Breast Cancer. The Live, Laugh, Learn series offers an “opportunity to socialize with other young (or youngish) women who get what you’re going through, while enjoying an evening of education, camaraderie and goodies.”

It quickly became apparent that the description provided for the Live, Laugh Learn series is 100% accurate. The young women who attended were extremely friendly, social and supportive of one another. The hip and trendy venue provided by lululemon provided the perfect informal backdrop to the important and often debilitating concerns surrounding cancer related brain fog. The audience exhaled a sense of relief when they learned that cancer related brain fog is common and that techniques and strategies exist to help combat it. The healthy, creative and yummy food was provided by Whole Foods, a store I would love to see find its way north of Toronto closer to where I live.

ReThink Breast Cancer is an incredible organization with a natural flair for creating awareness and support for young adults affected by breast cancer. Evidence of their visionary and on-target approaches can be seen at their Breast Fest Film Festival in November. For more information on Breast Fest and to order tickets to the incredible films being featured go to http://www.breastfestfilmfest.com.
